Disenchantment Part II

Posted by iamglamourpuss at 3:07 PM
This blog is a little update to my previous blog.

First of all, my second order from Sleek, the one that shipped on the 26th came in today. The one that shipped on the 25th (the larger order) has not arrived yet.

Secondly, I got my products from the mineral make-up company I wrote about. I accepted a deal to make good on the collections I had not received. Not to sound like a Debbie Downer, but I am still not pleased.

I had gotten my hopes up when the vendor posted photos of the process of packing and shipping these orders. A collection I had ordered was being put together, so I had hopes of receiving it! But now I'm just annoyed to see that they posted photos of a decent-sized quantity of that collection and I didn't get one.

When I get a package, I almost always document (with photos) how it arrives, how it is packed, the contents and anything else worth noting. I think that blogging about the entire experience, not just the products, is very important. The first thing that caught my eye is that one of the pigments got loose and was all over one corner of the vinyl bag everything was packed in. Then I noticed a clamshell pigment was not closed properly.

A lot of the colors I received are similar. And the two vials of glitter that were sent were identical. There is a soap and something that looks like wax tarts. There's a mini-stack of pigments that is barely half full. There are some cheapie lip brushes. A full sized chrome serum was included. There's also a make-up bag, a button and some samples. Oh, and a 20% coupon on the next order.

I don't know what I'm going to do with this stuff. I suppose I'll post on the message board for this company and see if anyone is up for a trade.

Here are the pics:

(My hands are dirty from simply unpacking this parcel.)

This is a waste of sending me a container...there isn't even enough product to fill half of it.

Sleek.. sucks. Their products are good, but personally not worth their crappy customer service. I ordered in their 50% sale, didn't heard nothing for few weeks (still this day haven't), asked my friend who was in UK to get me the items instead..
It's pathetic really. The day they launched, they had exactly same problems, so they SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREPARED for the 50%.. they just don't care. Non of my emails has been replied. But as I said, I was lucky to have friend located in UK at the time to get me the items I most wanted. Too bad this isn't the case for everyone.

And what comes to Glitter Sniffer (i think this is the company you're speaking of, and sorry for mentioning name, but I'd like to be sure), I truly feel sorry for you. I was once tempted to order, but luckily enough, read the warnings.
To me it seems that company is all about twitter like status updates, crazy sales and fraud charity to make money.. Not something I personally support.
Good think there's Silk Naturals, Hi-Fi and Shiro.

Hope your problems with Sleek get solved soon, and sorry for endless ramle *blush*

Thanks, Melly. I agree, I prefer to just buy Sleek when I go to London each year. It just stinks when they come out with something limited edition that I may miss.

I still need to harass them about my 50% off order.

And the GS stuff does make me sad. :(

Only one thing surprised me about your Glittersniffer experience: that you received such an awesome handmade makeup pouch (the tattoo patterned one) by Etsy seller "Mean Look." Lela was supposed to sell these bags but never even promoted that she had them nor were they paid for. Now she is giving them out for free to make good on her own bad business practices? The hole just keeps getting deeper and deeper. *sigh*

This just makes me angry; she's still up to her old tricks. This isn't changing. Pigments are still spilling in the packages even after I personally complained this was happening.
Courtney, even you didn't get your collections and she's still offering deals in place of collections/shipments that haven't been received.
I was also one of those people that had personally ordered a makeup bag from a "Grab Bag" and hadn't received it by Dec 14th or heard anything so I cancelled it and got a refund. This is, I agree "pathetic". So glad I'm done!
